History of Word of Faith Church

Word of Faith Church began on July 21, 1990, when Pastors Curtis and Eileen Gibson responded to the direction of the Spirit of God to teach the “Word of Faith” in the Charlottesville area.

A weekly Bible Study was started in April 1990 at Albemarle High School. Over sixty people were in attendance in our first church service the following July. After three years, the church was able to purchase our present land and building.

In October 1997, Pastor Curt went home to be with the Lord. With great faith and much grace, Pastor Eileen became Senior Pastor. In 2000, God blessed our church family through her marriage to Terry Lehmann. He was ordained in March of 2004, and they now co-pastor our growing congregation.

God has been faithful to bless and increase the church as we have endeavored to remain faithful to Him.
